Define "reasonable"! (For that matter, define "subterfuge".) The last
few time this sort of scurrilous exchange took place on this newsgroup,
Ed simply posted once that he saw no point in refuting slander here, and
refused to be baited into responding (as he has allowed you to do, this
time). As many have pointed out, he has been in business for many
years, and the majority of his customers have been satisfied. His is
mostly a one man operation - one can't expect the rapid, efficient
service of an organization like Amazon. (And they aren't ALWAYS all that
efficient, either.)
"Unauthorized" recordings have many sources - I seriously doubt Ed
personally records everything in his inventory (especially since he
lives in the U.S., where radio and TV broadcasts of live performances
are severely limited). He generally listens/views the items before
offering them for sale, and provides a fair assessment of the quality
(usually along with the venue and date of the actual performance).
Isn't that all anyone can reasonably expect? Some of the complainants
here have unrealistic expectations, others simply enjoy stirring up
trouble. (I'm inclined to wonder whether some of them have ever
actually ORDERED anything from Premiere!)
It's unfortunate your experience with Premiere Opera has been
unsatisfactory, but don't you think it's time you abandoned your
slanderous comments and waited until you have genuine cause to complain?
