I decided, hoping that Ed might be monitoring emails even over this
holiday weekend, to send him another communication, asking why, after
two and a half weeks of begging for him to cancel my order and issue a
refund, and after his replying just a few days back that he would do
so that very day, that nothing has changed, except my order status,
from "processing" to "shipped" instead of to "canceled."
I got an almost instantaneous response this time:
Your order has indeed been shipped, and if you wish a refund, than I
will do so, and you may still keep the order with our compliments. We
do not see credit card numbers, so you would have to let me know the
amount due you, and the credit card number to credit for you. I am
sorry it came to this, but we will do whatever you wish us to do.
Best wishes,
Ed

Well, you may be thinking I'm a fool to feel encouraged by this but I
am thinking this may all be resolved very soon. I tend to think (just
intuition, I suppose) that Ed is more of a disorganized mess than he
is a dishonest businessman. Next week will tell, I guess. I, of
course, responded that I can't very well send my credit card
information to him in an email (a totally unsecured form of internet
communication) but instead requested that he send me a check. I also
offered to return the DVDs, once they arrive, at his expense, in spite
of his offer to let me keep them.
I'll update this thread again once (if) the check arrives and I've
cashed it successfully. It's crazy to think that this order was placed
on 3/18!
We're almost there, I hope.
