i do not doubt for a moment that both of you had/have a bad experience
with Priemere Opera.
to the best of my knowledge, ed has been in business over 35 years and a
"crook" wouldn't last 35 days.
my belief, and this is mostly speculation... is that ed has a fair
amount of turnover amongst his employees, as the work is no doubt menial
and they are all opera fans or struggling performers who need the money
and would leave quickly for something more "creative".
should ed have taken your calls or responded to your emails darbl? yes
for sure, if he saw the emails and it wasn't an employee who screwed up
your order and just didn't tell ed.
nevertheless, ed is ultimately responsible and as i said at the
beginning, crooks don't survive 35 years in addition ot the probably 95%
or so who have ordered material from ed and enjoyed his product
one last thing... i don't think ed ever "officially" anounced his
mother recently died... and i know he had been to florida twice, once in
late may, stayed about 5 days and went home only to have to come right
back two days later when he learned she would die soon.
IMO, these things should factor into the equation to whatever degree one
wants to assign it.

p.s. it is not just small companies that sometimes don't treat their
customers justly. i recently "upgraded" my sprint cell phone and was
told my $50 rebate would take 10-14 WEEKS i called and asked why, with
all their computers, technology it should take so long, and their answer
was basically that was their standard operating procedure. good answer!
